Give praise to the Lord
As I am praying and reflecting on this month’s topic, I recall a hymn that speaks to me often. This hymn encompasses all seasons of my life; its lyrics resonate with my heart and inspire me to rededicate myself to Almighty God.
| Verse 1: Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father There is no shadow of turning with Thee Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be |
Verse 1 reminds me of:
|
| Verse 2: Summer and winter and springtime and harvest Sun, moon and stars in their courses above Join with all nature in manifold witness To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love |
Verse 2 helps me understand:
|
| Chorus: Great is Thy faithfulness Great is Thy faithfulness Morning by morning new mercies I see All I have needed Thy hand hath provided Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me |
Chorus:
|
Therefore, what should we do?
Psalm 105: 1-4 speaks
1 Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done.
2 Sing to him, sing praise to him;
tell of all his wonderful acts.
3 Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
4 Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always.
ROLC-ians, as we begin each day, let us take a moment to reflect on these questions:
- Are we focusing on God or on ourselves?
- What might God be revealing to us through the Holy Spirit?
- Before the day ends, what events am I thankful to God for?
As a Christian and as a pastor, I need to adjust my pastoral approach by seeking wisdom from Almighty God. There is a risk of over-relying on my personal experiences, so I must acknowledge my weaknesses and refocus on Him.
Let us enter the last quarter of 2024 with confidence by realigning ourselves with God. He is all we need. To God be the glory, now and always!
